This is where your character will begin their online and gaming life. This is the place where you will learn and master the fundamentals of RuneScape. Here is where the basis is laid.
Various series of activities and instructions will follow. You will be casting spells, fishing, mining, getting involved in some introductory combat and much more.
This should only take about 20 minutes to complete. Upon your training completion, you will be taken to the town of Lumbridge. This is where your RuneScape adventures will start.
Here, there are lots of non-player characters or instructors, that will make you wise and skilled in what you need to play, survive and thrive in the game. Use all the helpful information to your advantage. Take the time to go through it. You will be glad that you did.
Hints and tips that you might be able to use to stack the odds in your favor later will require some time, attention, patience and persistence here. Spend your time wisely on Tutorial Island.
You will soon be ready for some real and serious game-play!
Your RuneScape guide will welcome you. You will need to be able to talk to others to progress in this game. You can click on these people and talk to them by clicking with your mouse where the yellow indicator or arrow flashes.
Follow a path to meet your first instructor. Here, you will learn how to move around and use the resources that are available to you. Screens, navigation, security and more will all be shared with you. It is an enjoyable experience to learn all the navigation tools, screen tools, menus and helpful items and functionality you have at your disposal. It is vast and in a step-by-step fashion, you are handling them one at a time through this tutorial – getting better and more proficient with every step.
You will next meet Bryana, who will teach you the first survivalist skill – making fire. Tinder Box and Bronze hatchet will be provided to you. The backpack icon will flash and you need to click on it to get, use and learn more about your tools. You will get to practice your skills again and again.
You need to select the tool to cut or chop down a tree to get some logs for a fire. Your skills and abilities once completing a task will be shown by a flashing graph. This is where you will find out what your skills are and how good you are at them. Tracking these stats at any time, will show you how to progress to the next level, make money, get better in the game etc. also where you are weak and at risk.
Finding food is next. Catching fish and preparing your first meal without burning it to a crisp, follows. Catch fish and shrimp. As you complete your tasks and master these skills, Bryana offers you the opportunity to review the different crafts or skills and see your level of mastery.
The journey then continues on into a house where you will meet another instructor that will teach you how to prepare a meal. He is Lev the Chef. You will learn about bread and music here. You will get a bucket of water and a pot of flour. You work with dough, make bread and listen to some tunes.
Next, you will meet two more instructor guides – your quest guide and a mining guide. Here you will learn how to prospect and mine, smelt and make some weapons.
Next through some gates into the combat zone. You will be able to view your weapons, defense and protective arsenal here too. You will receive a sword and a shield, bronze arrows and short-bows. In the combat zone you will learn about close combat and range fighting, different weapons, how to equip yourself and wield them for optimal effect.
At the bank, you will be able to access your bank account, store and retrieve different things. The financial advisor is also there to share insights with you on how to make money. Combat, quests and trading are the ways to make money. Rewards and skills, dropped items picked up in battles etc. will all count and help you earn.
The chapel is next where you meet a monk and learn about prayer. The Wizard’s house is your next stop - he will teach you about spells and magic.
