If the player wants to begin an advanced quest, then a minimum quest point is required.

Quest points are also used in Tears of Guthix minigame. In this game, if you have more amounts of quest points, you can get in the cave for a longer period.  There is a lot of variation regarding difficulty of runescape quest.
